When you realise you're not living your own life...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Have you ever had the feeling that you are doing things... but something is missing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your life is working. You have your daily routine. You move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But in the meantime there is a quiet but persistent feeling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201eWe need more than that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is not necessarily a spectacular collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rather, a quiet apathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rush<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Compliance<\/p>\n\n\n\n
exhaustion<\/p>\n\n\n\n
stress<\/p>\n\n\n\n
lack of time<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And sometimes it's even hard to smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The point when you can no longer suppress it<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a mother of four and an entrepreneur, my life is not \u201eInstagram-compatible\u201d either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mornings? Chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
200 metres to the nursery? At least half an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The logistics? A separate science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yet there is a moment in every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I step out the door of the nursery...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I raise my head...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and just feel the sun on my face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few seconds of freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I always think of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
why doesn't everyone do it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The breaking point we have been putting off for so long<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I didn't change overnight either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just like many others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I tried<\/p>\n\n\n\n
search<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I took detours<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wedding decoration, flower arranging, sewing...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I loved them - but they gave me no freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that was the key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was not that I was working too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It's that I wasn't living my own life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then came the point when:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I went to work crying<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was anxious at home<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and I knew exactly: this can't go on<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hardest step: deciding<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The strategy was not the most difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not the tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not the options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It's this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
step out of your comfort zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was afraid:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
what others will say<\/p>\n\n\n\n
what happens if it fails<\/p>\n\n\n\n
what if I fail<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But in the meantime there was another voice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201eWhat if it works?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then it was now or never.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And off I went.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The realisation that rewrote everything:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I've discovered something that seems simple at first, but actually changes everything:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your life is not determined by what happens to you...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
it's the choices you make every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Who you surround yourself with<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What you give your body<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What you let into your thoughts<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What job do you choose<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was not a \u201ebig breakthrough\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It's a lot of small decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But these decisions started to lead me towards a completely different life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
